Randomized trial comparing neoadjuvant carboplatin/paclitaxel with concurrent 41.4 Gy radiotherapy plus surgery versus surgery alone.

Population

Resectable esophageal or GEJ squamous-cell or adenocarcinoma (T1N1 or T2-3N0-1).

Median OS 49.4 vs 24.0 months (HR 0.66); pathologic complete response in 29%, with R0 resection 92% vs 69%.
