Randomized phase 3 trial comparing intravenous paclitaxel plus intraperitoneal cisplatin and paclitaxel versus standard intravenous paclitaxel plus cisplatin.

Population

Women with stage III optimally debulked (residual <=1 cm) epithelial ovarian or peritoneal cancer.

Primary Endpoint

Progression-free survival and overall survival

Key Result

Intraperitoneal therapy improved median PFS (23.8 vs 18.3 months) and median OS (65.6 vs 49.7 months) versus IV therapy (death HR 0.75).
