GOG-209 — Carboplatin and Paclitaxel for Advanced Endometrial Cancer: Final Overall Survival and Adverse Event Analysis of a Phase III Trial (NRG Oncology/GOG0209)
Phase 3 · 2012 · Endometrial Cancer
Design
Randomized, open-label, noninferiority phase III trial comparing carboplatin/paclitaxel (TC) with paclitaxel/doxorubicin/cisplatin (TAP) in advanced or recurrent endometrial cancer.
Population
Women with stage III, stage IV, or recurrent endometrial carcinoma with performance status 0-2 and no prior chemotherapy.
Primary Endpoint
Overall survival (noninferiority)
Key Result
TC was noninferior to TAP for overall survival (median 37 vs 41 months; HR 1.002, 90% CI 0.90-1.12) and PFS (median 13 vs 14 months; HR 1.032) with less toxicity.
Guideline Impact
Made carboplatin/paclitaxel the guideline-endorsed first-line standard for advanced/recurrent endometrial cancer
