A032302 — Androgen deprivation plus apalutamide with or without docetaxel in metastatic castration-sensitive prostate cancer (ASPIRE)
Phase 3 · Prostate Cancer
Population
Metastatic castration-sensitive prostate cancer (mCSPC) starting first-line intensified therapy.
Primary Endpoint
Overall survival
Rationale
Triplet therapy (ADT + an AR pathway inhibitor + docetaxel) benefits some mCSPC patients, but not all need chemotherapy. ASPIRE uses tumor-suppressor gene alterations to test whether biology can identify who gains from adding docetaxel to apalutamide.
What It Could Change
Would help personalize the decision to add chemotherapy in metastatic hormone-sensitive prostate cancer based on tumor genomics.
