Rationale

Standard neoadjuvant regimens for HER2-positive breast cancer use anthracyclines and multi-agent chemotherapy with real toxicity. CompassHER2-pCR tests whether a shorter, anthracycline-free regimen achieves high pathologic complete response rates, so that many patients can safely avoid overtreatment.

What It Could Change

Could let patients who respond well to abbreviated therapy safely receive less chemotherapy.
