NRG-CC005 / FORTE — Five or Ten Year Colonoscopy for 1-2 Non-Advanced Adenomatous Polyps (FORTE)

Screening (randomized) · Colorectal Cancer

Population

Patients who had 1-2 non-advanced adenomatous polyps removed at colonoscopy.

Primary Endpoint

Incidence of advanced neoplasia (advanced adenoma or colorectal cancer) at surveillance

Rationale

Guidelines vary on surveillance intervals after low-risk adenoma removal, and shorter intervals add cost and procedural risk without proven benefit.

What It Could Change

A positive result would support extending surveillance colonoscopy to 10 years for low-risk adenoma patients, reducing procedures.
