Rationale

Locally advanced pancreatic cancer has few good options and local progression drives symptoms and death. Retrospective series suggest ablative-dose radiation may improve local control and survival, but this has never been tested in a randomized phase 3 trial.

What It Could Change

Would establish whether higher-dose radiation should become standard consolidation for locally advanced pancreatic cancer after chemotherapy.
