Rationale

Adding pembrolizumab to neoadjuvant chemotherapy improved outcomes in early triple-negative breast cancer (KEYNOTE-522). NSABP B-59/GeparDouze asks whether atezolizumab, a PD-L1 inhibitor, provides comparable benefit — helping define whether the effect is a class effect across checkpoint inhibitors.

Would clarify whether PD-L1 inhibitors beyond pembrolizumab are effective in early triple-negative breast cancer.
