Mechanism of Action
Targeted alpha-particle radioligand therapy in which the somatostatin-receptor (SSTR2) agonist VMT-α-NET is chelated to the alpha-emitting radionuclide lead-212 (212Pb). After binding SSTR2-overexpressing neuroendocrine tumor cells, the short-range, high-linear-energy-transfer alpha emissions cause dense, largely irreparable double-strand DNA breaks with minimal off-target exposure.
