Mechanism of Action
First-in-class polyamine transport inhibitor. Tumors escape ornithine decarboxylase inhibition (e.g., by eflornithine/DFMO) by importing extracellular polyamines; AMXT 1501 blocks the polyamine transport system, so combined with DFMO it achieves dual polyamine blockade — depleting the polyamines required for rapid tumor-cell proliferation.
