Mechanism of Action
Fully human IgG4 monoclonal antibody targeting programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1). By blocking PD-1 engagement with its ligands PD-L1 and PD-L2, balstilimab restores T-cell-mediated antitumor immunity. It is frequently developed in combination with the anti-CTLA-4 agents zalifrelimab or botensilimab to broaden immune activation.
Investigational Indications
- Recurrent/metastatic cervical cancer (post-platinum)
- Microsatellite-stable metastatic colorectal cancer (with botensilimab)
- Other advanced solid tumors
