Mechanism of Action

Cemacabtagene ansegedleucel (cema-cel) is an investigational allogeneic ('off-the-shelf') anti-CD19 chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy manufactured from healthy donor T cells rather than the patient's own cells. Unlike autologous CAR-T products, cema-cel is derived from allogeneic donor cells that are genetically engineered to express a CD19-targeting CAR and edited using TALEN® gene-editing technology to disrupt the T-cell receptor alpha-chain (TRAC) locus — preventing graft-versus-host disease (GvHD) — and to delete CD52 to enable lymphodepletion with anti-CD52 antibody…
