Fianlimab — Investigational Agent
LAG-3 Inhibitor · Phase 3 · Regeneron Pharmaceuticals
Mechanism of Action
Fianlimab is a fully human monoclonal antibody that binds to the lymphocyte-activation gene 3 (LAG-3) receptor on T-cells. By blocking the interaction of LAG-3 with its ligands, such as MHC class II molecules, it prevents the inhibitory signaling that leads to T-cell exhaustion. This blockade restores T-cell effector function and enhances the anti-tumor immune response. When combined with PD-1 inhibitors, it provides synergistic activation of the immune system against malignancies.
