Mechanism of Action
IMNN-001 (formerly GEN-1) is an interleukin-12 (IL-12) DNA plasmid immunotherapy delivered intraperitoneally using IMUNON's TheraPlas synthetic polymer (lipopolymer) nanoparticle system. The nanoparticle protects and delivers the IL-12-encoding plasmid into cells within the peritoneal cavity, producing local, sustained, and controlled expression of IL-12 at the tumor site while limiting the systemic toxicity that has historically constrained recombinant IL-12 protein therapy.
