rilvegostomig — Investigational Agent
Monoclonal Antibody · Phase 2/3 · AstraZeneca
Mechanism of Action
Bispecific monoclonal antibody that simultaneously blocks both PD-1 and TIM-3 immune checkpoints on T cells. TIM-3 is co-expressed with PD-1 on exhausted tumor-infiltrating T cells and is implicated in resistance to anti-PD-1 monotherapy. Dual blockade of PD-1 and TIM-3 provides complementary T-cell reinvigoration — overcoming a key resistance mechanism to single-agent PD-1 inhibition — without requiring combination of two separate antibodies.
