Mechanism of Action
SGN-CEACAM5C is an antibody-drug conjugate targeting CEACAM5 (carcinoembryonic antigen-related cell adhesion molecule 5, CEA), a glycoprotein highly overexpressed on colorectal, gastric, and other GI adenocarcinomas with limited normal-tissue expression. The anti-CEACAM5 antibody delivers a cytotoxic payload selectively to CEACAM5-expressing tumor cells via receptor-mediated internalization, after which the payload is released to disrupt tumor cell division and induce apoptosis.
