Tifcemalimab — Investigational Agent
Monoclonal Antibody · Phase 2 · Shanghai Junshi Biosciences (Coherus in US)
Mechanism of Action
First-in-class humanized monoclonal antibody targeting BTLA (B- and T-lymphocyte attenuator), an inhibitory checkpoint receptor on T cells, B cells, and NK cells that transmits suppressive signals via its ligand HVEM. Blocking the BTLA-HVEM axis reactivates exhausted lymphocytes, providing a checkpoint mechanism distinct from PD-1/PD-L1 and CTLA-4, and is being developed predominantly in combination with the anti-PD-1 antibody toripalimab.
